Competition Format and Important Dates:
Welcome to the Empower-Her Champions competition! Here's a detailed breakdown of how it works and the key dates you need to know:
Launch and Initial Application Submission (March 10th – April 11th):
Companies join by filling out an initial application form to confirm their interest, eligibility, and commitment outlining which focus area they’re interested in.
Eligibility Confirmation (April 14th):
Companies that have submitted their initial applications will receive a communication confirming their eligibility and commitment to proceed to the next stage of the competition. This step ensures that only qualified participants proceed to submit full proposals, maintaining fairness and transparency in the selection process.
Proposal Submission(April 14th – April 28th):
Companies are provided with technical and financial proposal templates to submit outlining gender-centric initiatives to empower women in the workplace. This proposal provides in-depth information about the company’s proposed projects, including implementation strategies, timelines, budgets, and expected outcomes. The full application submission phase marks a crucial step towards the selection of winning concepts that demonstrate innovation, feasibility, and potential for significant impact in addressing workplace gender disparities.
Assessment and Filtration (April 29th – May 9th):
A panel of esteemed judges assesses the proposals based on the competition criteria, aiming to recognize the most impactful gender initiatives.
Announcement of Shortlisted Companies (May 13th):
Based on the competition criteria provided, 10 companies will be shortlisted to present at the awards ceremony taking place on May 27th where winners will be announced.
Awards Ceremony (May 27th):
This prestigious event not only celebrates the winning companies but also offers attendees an opportunity for rich content from experts in gender equality. Attendees can expect insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and the presence of media representatives. Winners will be announced and honored for their innovative initiatives. Winning companies will receive financial support from GIZ to kickstart their initiatives. Funds are disbursed within two months after the awards ceremony, ensuring quick access to resources for implementation.
Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation (June 2024 – March 2025):
Winning companies will have a period of 10 months after the awards ceremony to implement their initiatives. Regular assessments will be conducted to track progress, provide feedback, and offer support. Key performance indicators will be employed to ensure transparency and accountability in evaluating the effectiveness of gender initiatives.
